title: Get started
description: Add your help pages, test an answer, and install chat on your site.
---

You need a Rinhelp workspace, public help pages, and access to edit your website. [Create an account](https://rinhelp.com/signup) if you have not signed up.

## 1. Add your help pages

Open `Sources` in Rinhelp. Paste your website or help center address into `Website URL` and select `Add source`.

Rinhelp reads public pages linked on the same website. Wait for it to finish preparing the pages for answers. Open the source to check which pages are ready. See [Add or update help pages](/docs/help-pages) if pages are missing.

## 2. Test an answer

Open `Widget` and ask a question in the preview on the right. Check the answer and open its source link.

Ask another question your pages do not cover. Rinhelp should say it cannot answer instead of guessing. [Improve an answer](/docs/widget/test-answers) if needed.

## 3. Install the widget

On `Widget`, adjust the title, greeting, and appearance, then select `Save changes`. Select `Install on your site`, then `Copy snippet`.

Paste the copied code before the closing `</body>` tag on the pages where you want chat, then publish your site. See [Install the chat widget](/docs/widget/install) for an example and troubleshooting.

## 4. Try a customer conversation

Open your site in a private browser window and ask the widget for a person. Select `Talk to a human` when offered and submit the requested email and note.

Open `Inbox` in Rinhelp, select the new `Waiting` chat, and send a reply. Your reply takes over the conversation. Select `Close` when you are done.

Chats answered by Rinhelp appear in the team inbox only after the customer requests a person and submits contact details. See [Reply to customers](/docs/inbox/reply) for daily inbox work.
