the short version

A chatbot ROI / cost-shape calculator estimates monthly AI support spend from your conversation volume and an assumed resolution rate, using each vendor’s published meter — flat bundled resolutions (Rinhelp), per-outcome (Fin), or per resolved interaction + ticket notes (Gorgias AI). This page compares bill shapes from your volume.

You are not looking for a 4,219% ROI graphic. You are looking at Fin at ~$0.99 per outcome, Gorgias AI around $0.90–$1.00 per resolved interaction (plus the helpdesk ticket meter), and Rinhelp’s $29 for 300 resolutions then $0.10 — and you want the bill shape side-by-side from your volume.

Inputs

InputExampleNotes
Monthly conversation / ticket volume (V)2,000Integer. Your inbound volume, however you count it.
Assumed resolution rate (r)40%Your assumption, not a Rinhelp benchmark. Default suggestion only.
Gorgias rate bandMonthly (~$1.00)Toggle annual (~$0.90) vs monthly (~$1.00) when you re-run.
Ticket-meter reminderONAI resolved interactions may also consume helpdesk ticket quota (see note).

Derived

[ R = V \times r = 2000 \times 0.40 = 800 ]

(R) = assumed billable resolutions / outcomes / AI resolved interactions for the month.

Example output (V = 2,000 · r = 40% · R = 800)

VendorEst. monthly AI feeNotes
Rinhelp$79$29 + $0.10 × (800 − 300) = $29 + $50. Unresolved (1,200) not charged.
Fin~$792≈ $0.99 × 800. Seats / Intercom minimums outside this simple model.
Gorgias AI (monthly band)~$800≈ $1.00 × 800. Annual band ≈ $0.90 × 800 = ~$720.
Gorgias ticket-meter reminderqualitativeThose 800 AI resolutions may also count as helpdesk tickets against your plan / overage. Do not invent $ without your plan numbers.
Delta (Fin − Rinhelp)~$713Shape comparison only — not “you will save this.”
Delta (Gorgias AI monthly − Rinhelp)~$721Same caveat. Ticket-meter impact is extra and plan-specific.

Change (r) and the picture moves. At low volume where (R \le 300), Rinhelp’s floor is just $29. That is the whole point of showing the formula instead of a hero “savings” number.

Formulas we use

Let:

  • (V) = monthly volume
  • (r) = assumed resolution rate (0–1) — your input
  • (R = V \times r) = assumed billable count

Rinhelp (usage plan)

  • If (R \le 300): cost = $29
  • If (R > 300): cost = $29 + ($0.10 × (R − 300))
  • Unresolved conversations ((V - R)) are not charged under Rinhelp’s published rule (product pricing claim — not magic savings theater)

Fin (outcome meter)

  • cost ≈ $0.99 × R
  • Optional Intercom seats / minimum commitment are outside this simple model. Link Intercom pricing; do not invent seat math into the default output.

Gorgias AI Agent (resolved-interaction meter + ticket note)

  • AI fee ≈ $0.90 × R (annual framing) or $1.00 × R (monthly / Starter band) — label which band you used
  • Ticket meter (required): Per Gorgias FAQ framing used across Rinhelp comparison briefs, an AI Agent resolution can also count as a helpdesk ticket against ticket-tier plans. Show a separate line: “helpdesk ticket impact: (R) interactions may also consume ticket quota / overage.” Prefer qualitative + link to Gorgias pricing, or an optional assumed overage $ you type yourself — clearly labeled estimate. Overage often cited around $1.50 in Gorgias materials; re-check before you buy.

How to read the result

  • Low volume: the $29 floor often dominates per-outcome meters when (R) stays under a few hundred.
  • Unresolved free matters when you are unsure what (r) will actually be — you are not paying Rinhelp for threads the agent could not resolve.
  • Gorgias: remember helpdesk ticket tiers and the AI meter. Depth: Rinhelp vs Gorgias AI.
  • Fin price education: best Fin AI alternatives.

FAQ

What is a chatbot ROI calculator?

A chatbot ROI / cost-shape calculator estimates monthly AI support spend from your conversation volume and an assumed resolution rate, using each vendor’s published meter — flat bundled resolutions, per-outcome, or per resolved interaction plus ticket notes. On this page it compares bill shapes from your volume.

What inputs do I need?

Monthly volume and an assumed resolution rate. Optionally toggle Gorgias annual vs monthly AI rate and keep the ticket-meter reminder on. The resolution % is your assumption (example default 40%) — not a Rinhelp benchmark.

How is Rinhelp priced in this model?

$29/mo for 300 resolutions, then $0.10 per resolution over 300. Unresolved conversations are free per pricing. Checked 2026-09-08; re-check at publish.

How is Fin priced here?

Approximately $0.99 × assumed outcomes. Seats and Intercom minimums are outside the default model — see Intercom pricing.

How is Gorgias AI priced here?

Approximately $0.90 (annual) or $1.00 (monthly) × assumed AI resolved interactions, plus a separate ticket-meter reminder that AI resolutions may also consume helpdesk ticket quota. See Gorgias pricing and the AI Agent pricing post.

Are these numbers guarantees?

No. Estimates only. Definitions differ. Rates change. Your assumed (r) is not a published Rinhelp performance claim.
