A new chat widget with Home, Messages and Help
Your chat widget now opens to Home, with Messages and Help one tap away, so customers can find an answer before they ever need to ask.
Home
Home greets customers with the faces of Rin and your team, a reply they haven’t read yet, a way to ask a question, and a search over your help center with its first three articles.
Help
Customers browse your help center’s sections, search it, and read any article right in the chat widget, with Open full page to see it on your help center. Help shows up once you publish an article.
Every article ends with Still stuck? Ask Rin. Rin reads that article first, so the customer doesn’t have to explain again. The conversation says “Started from” with the article’s title, for the customer and in your inbox.
Messages
Every conversation a customer started is one tap away, with a status in plain words: Rin is answering, Answered, Waiting for the team, a teammate replied, or Closed. A dot marks replies they haven’t read yet.
Greeting
About 6 seconds after a customer arrives, your greeting appears above the chat button, once per visit. Clicking it starts a conversation. See Set up the chat widget.
What you need to do
Nothing. Chat widgets update on their own. The greeting is on by default; turn it off under Settings > Chat widget.
