Move from Missive to Rinhelp
By Wilbert Liu, founder of Rinhelp · Facts checked · Markdown for AI agents
Missive’s in-app export gives your conversations, comments and responses as zip files, and its API on the Productive plan fills the gaps. Trashed conversations are never exported, and you can run each export type only once a day.
| Conversations | Time to read them from Missive |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | about 34 minutes |
| 10,000 | about 6 hours |
Limit used: 60 requests a minute (Productive plan API: 900 per 15 minutes on a long run, bursts up to 300 a minute), about 2 per conversation. Rinhelp takes up to 3,000 conversations a minute.
Free. Importing never emails your customers, never runs Rin and never counts toward a plan.
Needs a person. Run the export from Missive’s settings and download each zip within 7 days. API tokens need the Productive plan, and Missive’s MCP needs Productive or Business plus an organization admin to turn it on.
Paste one prompt
Connect your AI agent to Rinhelp first, then paste the prompt for the app you use. It reads this page’s Markdown and follows Rinhelp’s steps.
Read https://rinhelp.com/migrate/missive.md, then unzip the Missive export I upload and bring its conversations, comments and responses into Rinhelp. If our admin has turned on Missive’s MCP, use it to search and read only, never to draft or send.
Follow https://rinhelp.com/migrate/missive.md to copy my full Missive history with the API token I give you. Walk every mailbox and label, since each list call needs a mailbox filter, read messages and comments 10 at a time, and stay under 900 requests per 15 minutes with at most 5 at once.

Questions
Do I need Missive’s Productive plan to leave?
No. Anyone can run Missive’s in-app export and upload the zip to Claude or ChatGPT. You need Productive only for API tokens, which suit a long history.
Why are some Missive conversations not in my export?
Missive never exports conversations in the trash, and each person exports only what they can open. Restore anything you want to keep before you export.
Do Missive comments come across?
Yes. They’re in the export and the API, and Rinhelp keeps each comment as a note on its conversation, out of the customer’s sight.
